TO GET RID OF MENSTRUAL CRAMPS...............
Many women suffer from
painful menstrual cramp, all the women not affect in the same way, but still
suffering. Here are some home remedies that ease menstrual cramps.
Apply
heat
Heat helps to relax the contracting muscles in your
uterus, which is the cause for your pain. There are many over-the-counter
heating patches and pads, such as ThermaCare, Bengay, or electric, reusable
ones. Or, even taking a regular plastic bottle with hot water and applying it
to your abdomen is an alternative when you don't have access to a heating pad.
Try a Tea
Raspberry leaf is
considered to be a mild uterine tonic. Try a cup of raspberry leaf tea each day
throughout the month. It is available at Whole Foods by the company Traditional
Medicinals. Keep in mind you are looking for the herbal tea, not
raspberry-flavored black tea!
Eat More Greens
Dark leafy greens are a
dietary source of magnesium, calcium, and countless other micronutrients.
These nutrients are essential for mediating muscle contractions. In Chinese
dietary therapy, dark green vegetables are also considered to be mildly
cleansing, which is what the body needs in a “stagnation” condition. Some
greens such as dandelion greens (very bitter, but very helpful) also have a
mild diuretic effect, which reduces bloating.
Try to
avoid caffeine as much as possible.
Having
too much caffeine can make your cramps worse. Some sources recommend avoiding
foods and drinks that contain caffeine, such as coffee, teas, colas before and
during your period.
Exercise
This might sound a little
crazy and you might be thinking to yourself, I can barely move, let alone exercise.
However, brisk walking, or any type of physical activity, can help to ease your
belly pain. When you're doing any type of aerobic exercise, your body is
pumping more blood; this helps to release endorphins to counteract the
prostaglandins and reduce your cramps. Exercising three to four times a week is
good for the overall health of your body, but it is especially important if
you're prone to painful menstrual cramps.
·
Avoid salty foods and alcohol, these can
increase bloating by retaining water, and so make you feel generally sluggish
as well as making cramping worse.
·
Take up yoga,
this is a very good exercise tip because as well as being gentle exercise it
also has stretching that can help even further and breathing exercises that can
help relax you and so further aid in relieving menstrual cramps.
·
•Take a
bath, a nice warm bath can help relax you and the heat can ease period pains as
well, avoid things that can harm your vagina like bubble bath, however some
nice natural salts or essential oils can make a nice relaxing bath.
Avoid salty foods and alcohol, these can increase bloating by retaining water, and so make you feel generally sluggish as well as making cramping worse.
